Replicas

Vegas is pretty good at copying a number of worldwide monuments. There are replicas of the Eiffel tower, the statue of David and the canals of Venice to name but a few.

These are all impressive copies of the real deals, but the thing that really made me realize this city is working hard to bring the whole world into one location is the smell. Yes, the smell.

Having recently been to Paris I have a good idea what the smell of 500+ years of urine in the streets is like. Somehow the Paris resort and casino replicated the odor after being in place less than 20 years.

The dedication of their employees must be beyond reproach. Right from the start if their shift to the end I have to assume the only place they can relieve themselves is on the pavement in front if the lobby. No indoor plumbing allowed!

This is all fine for the male staff, but the 65 year old female staff who are made to wear skimpy barmaid outfits might find a little more trouble with the hotel policy. But they must follow through, because the smell can only come from one source...unfortunately.

More nasal observations coming soon.
